Top 5 News and Magazines Apps on Android in Portugal, Q3 2025

In the third quarter of 2025, the performance of the top news and magazine apps on the Android platform in Portugal showed varied trends. Here's a closer look at the download and user activity for these apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

SAPO saw a significant increase in weekly downloads, starting with modest numbers in early July and reaching a peak of approximately 17.3K in the week of September 22. Weekly active users also rose steadily, beginning at around 6.5K and climbing to over 10K by the end of September.

X experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, with numbers peaking at about 3.7K in early September before declining towards the end of the month. Weekly revenue showed a similar trend, starting at $973 and reaching a high of $3.3K in early August. Active users, however, showed a downward trend from 457K to 321K over the quarter.

Notícias ao Minuto Portugal maintained a consistent download rate throughout the quarter, with numbers hovering around 1.5K. Active user counts remained relatively stable, fluctuating slightly around the 24K mark.

Ordem Enfermeiros had a notable spike in downloads at the beginning of July, reaching 7.6K, before settling into lower figures for the remainder of the quarter.

CNN Portugal displayed variability in weekly downloads, starting strong with 1.1K in late June, dipping in the middle of the quarter, and ending with 181 downloads in the last week of September.
